Just flew into Detroit last night. Think about flight 255 everytime I fly. I was in middle school when this happened and can remember it like it was yesterday. After landed and got back to the car, drove down Middlebelt by the memorial site and said a little prayer.

my condolences to the families of the victims and to the friends they left behind, my parents and I were in a field at the airport(that\'s back when you could watch the planes take off and land) the night before this happened at about the same time the accident happened the next day...still haunts me to this day, I even did a report on the lone survivor for school I hope she\'s doing well I have watched many things over the years about this accident. Condolences to all the people who parished and the survivors. I was only 16 when this happened. I just started digging into it recently, reading articles, listening over and over to the recording of the crew. I have a problem with the Captain being blamed for this. The info coming from the tower wasn’t exactly clear, and they were being rushed to meet a curfew at the AZ airport. I think there were many contributing factors, and to solely blame the captain is a disrespect to him and his loved ones. Aside from being rushed and confusing info from the tower, they had equipment malfunctions. God bless you Captain Maus, the crew and passengers. You will never be forgotten.

I still remember this day every year. William Acker was my ex-fiancé, but still one of my best friends. We had last spoken 3 days before he flew back to NY for his parents anniversary with his roommate. He was a wonderful man, smart, handsome and well loved and respected by his friends and coworkers. I still miss him. I know he is in Heaven with his parents.
