I have a lot to thank Matt Monro for.
I was/am a professional opera singer and at the height of my career my voice packed up
when I was singing principal roles at English National Opera.
I had complete vocal collapse. Wrong vocal coach, over worked, stressed, got married, had a miscarriage, bought a house, had a child; all in 18 months.
It was only picking up a Matt song that I realised I was doing the exact opposite of his technique.
It took me ages to reign my voice in enough to sing Softly As I leave You. I then learned more of Matt\'s songs and listened to him and my voice gradually came back.
Thanks Matt.

Even he is not alive anymore... deserve to have one.
I discovered now that he had to do to the classic BORN FREE (all versions touch me). And I think the voice similar to FRANCIS ALBERT SINATRA.
I watched the film time ago (touching as well). And even had to read the book in an English course where I studied when I was a teenager.
I read he faced diseases related to alcohol. Great nowadays people (specially ARTISTS) have more notion that these things can destroy lives.
