MandE NEWS Training Forum

Please use this Forum to:
  • Publicise upcoming M&E training events: PS: Off-topic posts will be deleted
  • Post comments or questions about any particular training events that have already been posted
Advice:
  • Try to include the date, location and title of the training event in the heading of your post
  • If you want to include a working web link in your message, you need to sorround the link within HTML code. This is easy. For the basics of how to do this go to http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp
Here is an online survey into training needs. Participate in the survey to let people know what kind of training you need.

Look at the results if you are providing some type of M&E training, and you want your training to address people's needs.

Here is a list of M&E training providers, organised country by country. If you want your organisation to be included in the list, post a message using the Comment form at the bottom of that page.

CAVEAT: The listing of events on this page does not imply any form of endorsement by MandE NEWS of the accuracy of the information provided, the quality of the events, or their relevance to your needs.

REQUEST: This service is provided by Rick Davies pro bono. Please do not waste my time by posting irrelevant material, ether about non-M&E jobs or about other unrelated matters.

First public course on "Designing rigorous and inclusive impact evaluations with PIALA"

Dear colleagues,

I am delighted to announce the first public course on:
Designing rigorous and inclusive impact evaluations with PIALA (Participatory Impact Assessment and Learning Approach).

This is a 4-day course that runs from 28 until 31 August 2017 at the Stone Lodge, Asutsuare in Ghana (cf. http://www.stonelodgeghana.com).

The course is for evaluation commissioners, managers and practitioners who want to learn about making thoughtful design decisions to maximize the value of an impact evaluation in terms of:
• evaluating systems change at scale
• assessing causality in the absence of baselines and control groups
• facilitating solid debate with stakeholders about sustainability and inclusiveness of impact
• enabling meaningful participation without compromising on rigour (thus walking the talk of ‘leaving no one behind’)

PIALA is a theory-based and mixed-methods approach that seeks to address these challenges by offering a set of key design principles, standards, elements and options.

You can download the Course Flyer here: http://www.pdaghana.com/images/idpm/Announcement-PDA-PIALA-Course-August-2017-upload.pdf.

Deadline for application & payment is 1 August. Those who apply before 1 July receive 10% discount. Admittance is on a first come first served basis.

To apply, please visit http://www.pdaghana.com/index.php/courses-programs/327-upcoming-idpm-courses.html, download and complete the IDPM application form and make your payment, and email it to: idpm@pdaghana.com or gkmensah@pdaghana.com.

For further information, please contact me (adinda@piala.org) for content-related questions, or my colleague Glowen Kyei-Mensah (gkmensah@pdaghana.com) for practical and logistical questions. Or call: +233 (0) 503 362 035 or +233 (0) 302 970 177.

Looking forward to see you in Ghana!
