MandE NEWS Training Forum

Please use this Forum to:
  • Publicise upcoming M&E training events: PS: Off-topic posts will be deleted
  • Post comments or questions about any particular training events that have already been posted
Advice:
  • Try to include the date, location and title of the training event in the heading of your post
  • If you want to include a working web link in your message, you need to sorround the link within HTML code. This is easy. For the basics of how to do this go to http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp
Here is an online survey into training needs. Participate in the survey to let people know what kind of training you need.

Look at the results if you are providing some type of M&E training, and you want your training to address people's needs.

Here is a list of M&E training providers, organised country by country. If you want your organisation to be included in the list, post a message using the Comment form at the bottom of that page.

CAVEAT: The listing of events on this page does not imply any form of endorsement by MandE NEWS of the accuracy of the information provided, the quality of the events, or their relevance to your needs.

REQUEST: This service is provided by Rick Davies pro bono. Please do not waste my time by posting irrelevant material, ether about non-M&E jobs or about other unrelated matters.

Outline

Our updated course is ideal if you are new to monitoring and evaluation and will provide a thorough understanding of M&E concepts to build your practical skills and confidence needed to do M&E effectively. The training will share examples of M&E approaches and tools for different types of interventions and contexts.

Course objectives

By the end of the training you will be able to:

• Define the main terms and concepts associated with the processes of monitoring and evaluating projects and programmes
• Articulate the main purposes and key characteristics of effective M&E, in different contexts
• Select and use a range of M&E tools with confidence
• Apply results of M&E processes for improving accountability and organisational learning and explore some of the challenges that can arise from these processes.
• Reflect on your own role in bringing about improved M&E in your projects, programmes and organisations.

Who should attend

Ideal if you are unable to travel and need to learn about M&E, staff of NGOs and CSOs who are relatively new to M&E, whether you are directly responsible for implementing M&E or are managing others with the responsibility to improve M&E in your organisation. Consultants working within the sector who have little or no M&E experience often attend this course. This course is suitable for those based both in the UK and overseas and is designed to be able to fit around the demands of your day to day work. You will need to have good internet connectivity to get the maximum benefit from this course.

Duration

The course is spread over five weeks with approximately 5-15 hours of study a week. There will be a blend of ‘real time’ webinars led by experienced trainers, collaborative group activities, opportunities to interact with participants on the course through discussion forums on the INTRAC learning platform and an individual coaching session to help you apply the learning to your work.

Exact timing of trainer led activities will depend on the location of participants.

Cost

£550 which includes a 50 minute coaching session via Skype
