My personal opinion: United would be foolish to alter or end the Mileage Plus program. To do so would alienate nearly all of their best customers, many of whom would never return if they were to have their earned frequent flier miles wiped out. And the carrier certainly does not need that. I'm sure United does not even consider ending the program to be an option, so members of Mileage Plus shouldn't have any worries as far as that is concerned.

For the past few days I've been trying to access my UAL mileage plus status on UAL.com. Every time it says page cannot be displayed. I hope this doesn't mean what I think it means.
