MY BREWED COFFEE



The night is still and long

staying awake is hard but i've got work to do

until the noticed table is spared a glance

it makes me smile everytime the thing is done

the clean smoke that the mug exhausts

forms the notes of a symphony it sings

well i hope should it be an alternative rock

as intense as it tickles my minds back

the aroma that it brings

it's really deep down penetrating

even my partially awake nerves are set to perk

converting slow motions to quick rolling

it's really inviting and tempting though

getting near is the most that i can do

maybe a gentle or harsh touch is

still permissible if i'd insist so

but for not long or i might get burnt

it's as hot as the fire that turns

the metal rod to ember...

this thought seemed like a brake fluid

that stopped my foot at the very instant

taking me one step no more...

then i just turn my back

i know i must not dare take it,

somebody owns it already...

looking at it once more...

a naughty smile escaped upon my lips...

with the thought that can be sensed behind the lines

.....Oh my brewed coffee, i know i can't have you

but thanks for keeping me awake tonight...
