Such a wondrous, beautiful, and angelic sight

The day I first held your hand
The day our eyes met, as we could feel something more
I still remember…
The day I held you in my arms
The day that I truly felt where I belonged
I still remember…
The day that both our lips met
As I embraced you close and felt the joy of being loved
I still remember…
The day you whispered words into my ear
You said that you loved me and that you were sincere
I still remember…
The day you first left when I couldn’t stand being alone
Not knowing exactly when you’d come home
I still remember…
The day I saw you with someone new
The pain was so great, but I still loved you
I still remember…
The day I had to try and let go
Of all of the memories through which my pain showed
Yet, I will never let go of the fact that I love you because…
