This one is really an anti-Hallmark poem, a la Charles Manson. Here goes...
When You Said Goodbye
bring in the funeral drum.
tonight i bury this fool,
this trifle, this rapture
for niceness.
i beat this drum for blood
for drops of salt to mix
with shreds of my viscera
cut by dagger corners of your smile.
this soup to lubricate all
the violations i intend
with all the vileness
i could dredge.
and from all the cankers
that result from this
i shall build a mound,
overlay it
with plucked eyebrows
and pieces of my scrotum.
with choicest fat
from your loveliness
i shall burn the pile
and feed on its ashes
for years to come.
*******************
I hope that doesn't freak out anyone. But I think this conveys a certain range of emotions that one might go through when love goes bad. 'Happens to most of us.
Anyway, pop the cork and pass the Cristal! Happy New Year to everyone!
Cheers!

Do you guys have any poems na pwedeng "pang-Hallmark greeting card" and dating? Maybe stuff you wrote way back in highschool, or nung time na in-love na in-love ka? Post them here!
Wow, intense. I hope I'll never ever become your enemy, hehehe. Seriously though, nice poem, very...uhm, graphic yung imagery. But I guess some cruel heartbreaks can bring about that kind of bitterness.
Pero I have a "counter-poem" for that, (it's actually something by THE Lea Salonga):
Be not fearful of the pain
One finds when one loves...
Of the sleepless nights and
tearful days...
For it is rare that the chance to love,
And love deeply
Comes your way...
When it does, take it and fall,
Whatever the risk.
O diba?
