Re: "Pang-Hallmark" poems

hello,

The Void

There is a place, a place I call Void...

In my mind there is a place

A plain cavern, a bare space

Blue flame dancing on the center

with a dry ledge of alabaster

I solely enter that abode

And yet I'm not entierly alone

With me are my emotions

that for a day wrapped my bones

With me are my mask, my mix-up feelings

In the flame I feed them, and watch them seething

On the ledge I put my emotions, till I'm only me

I assume the Nothingness, until I am free

Only then will I look at you

Seeing you as you are

With a mind that has no grasping thoughts

In the Void, I'll observe from afar

Without mental comment of what you do

It's only in the Void that I see true

There, I'm not clouded by my deceitful feelings

There, without my mask, I see your hue

Your true self only then will I see

Only then will I know that you're not so above me

Until you move, Oh that graceful sway!

Until you smile and drank my soul away

Until you walked thatshouts your social standing

How long can I keep the Nothingness going?

Then you turn and held his hands

I saw two wings that flew as one

Then you hugged to my lament

The ledge gave in, the flame was rent

The Void shattered, the Nothingness collapsed

I lay there weeping, the fragments I clasp

The Void was good, tis my retreat

When for a day I feel defeat

But then you came to my dismay

How can I make the Nothingness stay?

The Void was strong before you came

Now its as dust, It aint the same...

Wow! I'm impressed...

Hi Jahar! I really like your poem, its style has shades of "The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufock" by T.S. Eliot (one of my favorites), and a bit of Ginsberg's "Howl". Nice imagery and lyricism, I especially like the lines:

Until you move, Oh that graceful sway!

Until you smile and drink my soul away

Who are your favorite poets? (& writers in general?)

I Still Remember

I still remember…

The day you came up to me and said “hi”

Our first conversation, our first good-bye

I still remember…

The day I saw you in a different light

Such a wondrous, beautiful, and angelic sight

I still remember…

The day I first held your hand

The day our eyes met, as we could feel something more

I still remember…

The day I held you in my arms

The day that I truly felt where I belonged

I still remember…

The day that both our lips met

As I embraced you close and felt the joy of being loved

I still remember…

The day you whispered words into my ear

You said that you loved me and that you were sincere

I still remember…

The day you first left when I couldn’t stand being alone

Not knowing exactly when you’d come home

I still remember…

The day I saw you with someone new

The pain was so great, but I still loved you

I still remember…

The day I had to try and let go

Of all of the memories through which my pain showed

Yet, I will never let go of the fact that I love you because…

I still remember.

A Thanks

A Thanks

'THANK YOU'

are just two words

Two simple words

useless without

each other.

Separated,

it would never

mean the same.

And people like you,

people who are

humble,

people who know

these words

by heart

deserve them.

If there's a more

meaningful word,

I'd have used it.

If there's a more

expressive term,

I'd have said it.

But since none

seems finer

and more appropriate

Since no word

can match

the meaning of

these two,

Then let me say it

once again,

Thank You!

Re: "Pang-Hallmark" poems

And love is sometimes cruel

Yet not a grave

Dwell on the stars

Empty was never ours

Darkness is emptiness

The soul survives

I survived

It’s not too late

It will never be…

For hearts shine

Rare as the flower on falls

Rare as the autumn on November rains

Unravel

Unchain

Unparalleled

Unprecedented

Confessed tameness

You are free…

The Truth

The Truth

I regret ever knowing

without even showing

my true feelings for you.

You are negligent, not intelligent

you do not have a clue.

For you, my heart does not burn.

A lot you have to learn.

Despise would be more concise

if a word for you I had to advertize.

You were wrong

I did not love you all along.

HOW CAN I

HOW CAN I KEEP YOU

IF SOMEBODY OWNS YOU

HOW CAN I GO TO YOUR WAY

IF SOMEONE IS BLOCKING

HOW CAN I HOLD YOU

IF SOMEONE IS HOLDING YOU

HOW CAN I BE SPECIAL FOR YOU

IF THERE IS SOMEBODY FOR YOU

HOW CAN I SAY GOOD-BYE TO YOU

IF I DON"T WANNA LEAVE YOU

HOW CAN I SAY I DON"T LOVE YOU ANYMORE

IF MY HEART KEEP SAYS I LOVE YOU

...PERHAPS FOR YOU IS NOTHING BUT, FOR ME

IS EVERYTHING

...I FORCE MY SELF TO FORGET YOU BUT, IT

DOESN"T FOLLOW CAUSE ...

THE MORE I TRY TO FORGET YOU

THE MORE MY HEART SAYS...

I LOVE YOU

Re: "Pang-Hallmark" poems

This one is really an anti-Hallmark poem, a la Charles Manson. Here goes...

When You Said Goodbye

bring in the funeral drum.

tonight i bury this fool,

this trifle, this rapture

for niceness.

i beat this drum for blood

for drops of salt to mix

with shreds of my viscera

cut by dagger corners of your smile.

this soup to lubricate all

the violations i intend

with all the vileness

i could dredge.

and from all the cankers

that result from this

i shall build a mound,

overlay it

with plucked eyebrows

and pieces of my scrotum.

with choicest fat

from your loveliness

i shall burn the pile

and feed on its ashes

for years to come.

*******************

I hope that doesn't freak out anyone. But I think this conveys a certain range of emotions that one might go through when love goes bad. 'Happens to most of us.

Anyway, pop the cork and pass the Cristal! Happy New Year to everyone!

Cheers!

JP

Re: Re: "Pang-Hallmark" poems

Wow, intense. I hope I'll never ever become your enemy, hehehe. Seriously though, nice poem, very...uhm, graphic yung imagery. But I guess some cruel heartbreaks can bring about that kind of bitterness.

Pero I have a "counter-poem" for that, (it's actually something by THE Lea Salonga):

Be not fearful of the pain

One finds when one loves...

Of the sleepless nights and

tearful days...

For it is rare that the chance to love,

And love deeply

Comes your way...

When it does, take it and fall,

Whatever the risk.

O diba?
