Fields Splitting

Hello everyone.

I joined in the week and had a first go at the ratings at Ripon, which with Hindsight was a bad move. The reason being that the race was run on two sides of the course.
With half the field tracking to the far rail and half tracked to the standside rail. which depending on where you was draw and where the pace was made a lot of difference.

Does anyone know a list of the meetings where this happens or it it most course with a field over a certain size.

I think I will then give those meetings either a wide berth or a more detail analysis.

Re: Fields Splitting

Hi Stuart

I am not sure exactly which courses do this but generally it is courses that have a straight 5f,6f,7f or mile I think and if there are 16 or more runners I would say. If you look at the diagram in the racing post for each meeting it shows the course shape and you should see here if the course has the straight as mentioned above.

Hope this helps mate.

Re: Fields Splitting

Also on some courses which have a DRAW BIAS for HIGH AND LOW........nobody wants to ride down the middle on these tracks.
