I've been using the ratings successfully now for just over 12 months and thought I'd give an insight into how I use the ratings hopefully some of you may find something of use.
I have come to the conclusion that a horses last 2 speed ratings are the ones to concentrate on, I rarely look at any other columns as experience has shown me these are without doubt the most relevant runs. I also check how competitive a horse was in the race it earned the rating, if it was competitive and challenging at the business end of the race it genuinly earned that rating, however the horse could just get "towed" along in a fast run race and earn a good rating it doesnt truly deserve.
Using this info I draw up a shortlist of at most 3 horses then using my understanding of horserace form I decide which horse is likely to reproduce or even improve on its figure and win the race.
Tomorrow I think I will back ALHAQUE 15.30 at Newton Abbot.
