FINDING GOOD FAVOURITES USING STATS AND THE RATINGS

Hi All,

I am going to try and find good favourites to be backed and see can we churn out a profit.I know that some people don't like backing favourites and that's fine but i like to look at them along with finding outsiders aswell.

Anyway the first thing i do is look at the favorites stats for each course on the RP and then try to apply the ratings to see if we have a strong contender or not.

The best stats for tomorrows racing are:
Carlisle 2yo non-handicaps favourites have a winning stat of 51%.The 2:20 is a qualifing race to look at.

Cartmel non-handicap hurdle favourites have a winning stat of 47%.The 2:10 and the 2:45 qualify so we have 3 races to look at for tomorrow.

Defence Council 2:20 Carlisle

I think this horse could be a decent favourite with the benefit of a previous run and J Howard Johnson stats been 4/10 in 2yo.R Fahey has done well with his 2yo this season but i think in these type of races a horse with a previous run under it's belt tends to improve and that's why i would stick with Defence Council.

Out of the 3 races this is the selection i would personally choose.
