The trout and redfish bite continues to be good throughout the Bayou Dularge area. Water temps are dropping as the fish continue to move north into the canals and natural bayous. Still plenty of trout in the lakes as the shrimp are keeping them in place. I enjoyed fishing 2 days with Matt Breaux and his business associates from Dallas, Tx. & Atlanta, Ga. The crew arrived around noon and we made an afternoon trip. The crew wanted south Louisiana redfish so we got them on some nice reds in the Lost Lake area. Mike Ruen had the big fish of the day with a 29 lb. brute in which he is having a replica made of the fish. The next morning we pretty much fished nothing but trout catching some nice fish in Lake Mechant. Double rigged LSU Bayou Chubs worked great with glo/chartreuse a close second as the trout gobbled them up as soon as the lure hit the water. The trout were feeding heavy on shrimp and the crew enjoyed the fast paced action. This crew really enjoyed the hospitality provided by Clayton Breaux at C-World and Shawn Whitney did a super job as usual preparing the meals both days. No place like the DU!
