Daniel Koss and his dad from Illinois had always wanted to catch redfish in South Louisiana. Not exactly on the "bucket list" for Daniel but it was for his dad. When they called me I said come on down as the Dularge area is teeming with hungry reds 365 days a year. At our first and only stop the guys wasted no time jumping all over the reds. The water was clean and the wind was light and variable with a gentle incoming tide. The reds were hungry and the guys caught redfish after redfish for about 90 minutes non stop. The fish averaged anywhere between 16-30 inches and both men were just amazed at the brute strength of the mighty south Louisiana redfish. It was even better than they expected and what a joy to see two grown men so excited to catch fish! The big blackdrum were hungry too so after catching 35-40 fish in a couple of hours they were hooked on our fishery to say the least! Thanks guys for a special morning on the DU!.
