Yes, there was a Board meeting September 5, 2009
There were approximately 12 association members, 4 Board members and the Howard Mesa Ranch (HMR) Road Committee Chairman, Rudy Paffrath, in attendance.
The major decision at the September 5th meeting was to choose how we will proceed with maintaining our road work.
The Budget and Cost Analysis Worksheet presented at the meeting outlined the details for our choices.
1. Repair the Huber grader that was purchased in March 2009 and hire an operator or dispose of the Huber.
2. OR hire a licensed, bonded contractor to do our roads - Palm Excavating (Tim Baker)
The Board voted to dispose of the Huber and contract with Palm Excavating. An explanation for this decision will be recorded in the minutes which will be posted on the POA web site -- www.4hrpoa.org -- along with the Huber Repair Quote we received from RDO Equipment and the results of the Cost Analysis Worksheet which compared the costs using the Huber grader vs using a contractor for our road work.
It would be great if you and other members would attend the quarterly Board meetings. The Board is facing more important decisions going into 2010.
One important topic we are working on is the updating and amending of the association's CC&Rs and Bylaws. These amendments will be mailed out to the membership in 2010 for preview and comment then the CC&R amendments will be presented at the next annual meeting (June 2010) for the POA members to vote on the changes.
** It takes a majority vote of the POA membership to change the CC&Rs.**
The next Board meeting is December 5, 2009
