2009 Road Reports - Please record the date when giving a road report

Saturday - January 24, 2009

Yesterday it started raining.
It's more of an intermittent drizzle where we are located - north western corner.
Not sure how the rutted roads are being impacted by the moisture.
I'll be driving out today and will post a report tonight or in the morning.

Sherrian,
I am planning on visiting next weekend - haven't been out to 4HR in over a year. How do the roads look now? Also, if I heard correctly I no longer can get to 4HR off of Hw 64 - what other route(s) must I take instead?
Thanks,
Chris

Re: 2009 Road Reports - Please record the date when giving a road report

Hi Chris,

February 22, 2009

The arterial roads are drivable today. There are several rutted stretches on HMR and 4HR, but it's easy to straddle most of the ruts.

SLOW driving (15 to 30 mph) is a must though.

Most of the secondary roads are still holding moisture so be prepared for some "mud flinging". Again, just drive slow and you shouldn't have any real problems.

Today we have a lot of cloud cover and the weather reports are saying rain today and/or tomorrow.

Feel free to contact us anytime for an update.

Entrances - there are two access points for 4HR.

HMR main gate entrance, mile marker 203 on Hwy 64
Espee Rd.(15 miles) to 4HR entrance on the south side.

HMR North entrance is off Hwy 64, mile marker 207
This entrance is closed to 4HR because our Board voted to not fund this stretch as a common road.

Hope this helps.

Sherrian
