Re: HPW-JD Byrider Fundraiser for Cheer Fund this Sunday 11/22

Fund Raising Free For AllAs the holidays approach, several people and organizations are doing their part to help those less fortunate to have a nice Christmas. Sometimes, you've got to be creative. On Sunday afternoon, you can take part in a creative fund raiser by attending Hoosier Pro Wrestling's show on behalf of the Columbus Fire Department's "Cheer Fund". Promoter Jerry Wilson says the show is great entertainment at a great price and that every dollar collected at the gate will go directly to the Cheer Fund.

Approaching their 12th anniversary, this isn't the first time that HPW has given back to the community. Wilson says his group teams with area auto dealer JD Byrider to provide free or low-cost events in order to raise money or collect food and other items for the area's needy. In fact, last July, HPW and JD Byrider teamed up to put on a free outdoor show that raised over 1,700 cans of food for the Love Chapel. "They were really happy to see that", said Wilson of the food bank's reaction to the generosity of the HPW fans. Wilson added that he is convinced that the fans will come through yet again for the area's less fortunate.

JD Byrider is covering the cost of the building rental and the wrestlers are donating their time. All this to allow all of the money raised at the gate to be donated to the Cheer Fund. Doors open just after 4 p.m. with the show starting at 5 p.m. Sunday. The event is being held inside the Family and Arts Building at the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds. Tickets are five dollars per person.
