We can thank Paul Conley for many of the photos that you see on the Norwood Arena web site. Although Paul had vision problems all his life, it did not stop him from becoming a photographer. For many years Paul worked as Norwood Arena's Official Track Photographer before moving on to work on stock cars for Bob Healey. The pictures that Paul took froze in time many of the memories that we associate with our common love of racing at Norwood.
Paul Conley was also very kind to a young kid that was interested in capturing the world he saw around him on film. Paul donated some of his used darkroom equipment and with assistance from Bill Balser, Paul's replacement as Norwood Arena Track Photographer, the kid grew up to have a career in the imaging field that also gave birth to the Norwood Arena web site.
A full and fruitful life, made stronger by his struggles with adversity; good friends and family, what more can we ask for?
And thank you Paul for your lasting contributions to our New England Motorsports heritage.
