Driver Dicky Elliott Passed Away

Richard "Dicky" Elliott of Middleboro, formerly from Randolph, passed away July 23, 2017, at his home while tending to things in his yard. The Legend is gone. Son of the late John and Thelma (Lindstrom), he is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sonja (Dahlgren) Elliott; son, Richard Elliott and wife Suzanne, and their children, Jake, Brittany and Peyton of Raynham, son, Joseph Elliott and wife Kristen, and their children, Alec and Kyle of Carver. Dicky was the second eldest of 5 children, Nancy Kelley and husband John of Raynham, Jackie Hughes and husband Steve of Raynham, Scott Elliott and wife Jane of Plymouth; and brother-in-law, John Miles of Londonderry, NH; predeceased by his eldest sister, Linda Miles. Dicky moved with his family to Middleboro in 1976, where he enjoyed the woods, his garden and working on building his dream home. His passion for fast cars and racing lead to many awards in NEMA midgets and different NASCAR divisions. Dicky was a hard worker starting his career in the Insulators Local 6 Insulators then moving on to start his own successful elevator construction business RCE Unlimited, where he worked closely with his brother Scott for over 30 years. Dicky was a man of few words, many trades, capable of fixing anything. He taught his boys the value of hard work, integrity and was very proud of the men they became. He was a little softer on his grandchildren, enjoying giving sound advice and praise for their accomplishments. Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 27, 2017, from 4-8 p.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St., Lakeville. Richards funeral service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the NASCAR Victory Junction.
