Remembering the First Lady of Norwood Aerena, Treva Merrill.

Treva Merrill, age 89 passed away suddenly Wednesday, May 1 at Christiana Hospital, Wilmington, DE. She suffered a stroke while visiting family in Delaware. Treva was an active member of the Newton community, member of Eliot Church, Newton Mass Junior Chamber of Commerce, Volunteered at Fransican Children's Hospital, and member of the Hunnewell Club. Treva was a very warm and caring person who loved her family. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Carlton P. Merrill, Director of Racing at Norwood Arena Speedway. She is survived by her sisters, Eva Austin of Wilmington, DE, Viola Williams, Elkton, MD, niece, Donna White, Wilmington, DE two great nephews, Jonathan White and Brent Rueda, two great nieces, Ashley White Palandrani, and Stephanie Rueda, Wilmington, DE. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Mr. & Mrs. Geo Lennihan, Fran Yerardi, and Newton City Hall for all their love and support. Services were held at Gracelawn Memorial Cemetry, New Castle, DE. Saturday, May 4, 2013
