Gene Bergin passed away early on February 27th. Gene had a major stroke in June that he was not able to recover from. He had been hospitalized since the stroke.

Gene drove anything that had wheels and would run fast. He expertly piloted Modifieds, Midgets, NASCAR Grand National cars, Sprint and Indy cars.

Gene won several times at Norwood Arena in the 52, but may be best remembered for his runs in the Beebe Zalinski M-6 that he drove in the late 60's.
