Doris Finkbeiner passed away on January 5th. If you raced at Norwood Arena in the early 50's Doris scored your race. She was an avid race fan all her life. She is well known to this web site and other racing publications in New England. Doris's sister, Audrey, married 50's stock car ace Gavin Couper.
Doris B. (Maher) Finkbeiner NEEDHAM Doris B. (Maher) Finkbeiner a longtime resident of Needham died on Tuesday January 5, 2010 at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale. She was 84 years old. Doris was a former employee of the Briarwood Nursing Home in Needham and Micromedia formerly of Needham. She enjoyed doing various crafts and was an avid NASCAR fan. Doris was the loving mother of Doree Kapplain of Laconia NH and Kenneth Toombs of Florida and the sister of Audrey Couper of Needham. She is also survived by several granddaughters, one grandson William Kapplain of Laconia, N.H., and many great-grandchildren. Aunt of Kim Row of Arizona, Dane Couper of Rhode Island, and Scott and Jay Couper of Needham. Funeral and interment services are private. In lieu of flowers donations in Doris' name may be made to the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen St., Framingham MA 01701.
