ISKA World Championship Qualifier Results
Well done to the USKA team today at the ISKA World Championship Eliminators / English Open Championship event at the Crystal Leisure Centre in Stourbridge. Gold medal winner on the day would earn themselves automatic qualification for the Championships and Silver and Bronze medal winners would go through the squad training selection stage for their place in the competition in the Czech Republic in August. An USKA team of 12 fighters turned out and as usual performed well bringing home a bundle of medals against a really high standard of competition from across the country. With 6 area's often active at one time USKA cornermen were running here there and everywhere trying to look after their fighters. The list of results below are as accurate as I can recall off the top of my head but as I missed some of the fights I'm sure you guys will correct me if I've made any mistakes.  Noor Muhammed - Silver Medal Winner Harun Khan - Bronze Medal Winner Stacey Richards - Gold Medal Winner Zak Rahman - Gold Medal Winner Mark Sedgwick - Gold Medal Winner Megan Kelly - Silver Medal Winner Azad Khan - Gold Medal Winner Jake Richards - Gold Medal Winner Qasim Nisar - Gold Medal Winner Alan Quinn - Bronze Medal WinnerMentions:  Peter Quinn was unlucky losing out his place in the final by split decision and then coming 4th in his fight off with brother Alan. Marco Conte after fighting probably the best he has ever done over three rounds of competition and ahead in the final blew his chances of a Gold medal retaliating to an after time blow with some overtime of his own followed by bad language in the ring that earned him a Disqualification costing him his medal and his place on the British team. Final tally for USKA10 Medals 6 Gold 2 Silver 2 Bronze Well done guys! with results like that no need to say anymore. Roll on the World Championships in August! |
