Message:   I know someone in Dorset who could clean and repair this clock who doesn't have a ridiculous waiting time.

He doesn't have ridiculous prices either.

Prices and waiting times depends on where you take the clock and I would endorse other comments about having it done properly.
Trouble is members of the public don't know who is good or who is bad in the trade.
The many go to jewellers shops because they sell clocks but don't realise that most shops fob out the work to clock repairers and then also put their bit of profit on top of the repairers price to the shop.

People on the internet can usually find a local repairer from the British Horological Institute website.
