Message:		Loomes (in Watchmakers & Clocksmakers of the World) mentions a Richard Chater, London, 1785, son of 'James Chater & Son, 1753-84) who carried on business alone. He also mentions a number of other Chater clockmakers in London, eg Nathaniel (1782), William (1805-44), Eliezer (1772-77). John
