Message:   I have had this clock for a few years , worked fine, although did not keep great time but the balls kept the clock wound and the slightist pressure on the wheel started the clock ticking. I was then given the advice from some friend of the family that i should spray the movement with wd 40 which he kindly did for me with predictable results... dead clock! will only tick if extreme pressure put on the wheel now, the balls do not apply enough weight now to do that. local horologist said he would service the clock for £300, not to fix it, but to remove the wd 40 and a general service.... this is too expensive for me, he also had a 6 month backlog of work , i only paid that ammount for the actual clock..I would be greatful if anyone could recommend someone in the hampshire , dorset area, i live in bournemouth many thanks, Kaye
