The Ida listed is actually their first child, Ada E. Weatherwax, born 20 January, 1860. Their other children are Clement S. Weatherwax, Frank Weatherwax and Kate Weatherwax. The others listed are the surviving children from Andrew's first marriage to Mary Ferguson. Andrew, Mary, their children Milo, Oscar and Willis are buried in Morrison Cemetery, Fabius Twp., St. Joseph Co., MI.
As reflected by marriage records, there were other Botts residing in Cass Co. previous to 1850 but all had left the area by the time the 1870 USC was taken.
Amanda must have been an extraordinary women for her time as it is known that she platted the Village of Corey which straddles the border of Fabius Twp., St. Joseph Co., MI and Newberg Twp., Cass Co., MI.

Note that Amanda Brott or Brat first indicates in USC1860 she was born in Ohio shortly after her marriage to Andrew which supports this being the correct Amanda Brott or Bratt. In USC1870 she is widowed and indicates place of birth as Indiana, again tending to support her families presence in Indiana. And fineally in USC1880 she indicates she was born in New York, in this USC she was a domestic and the enumerator may have taken data from someone else.
