Hi everyone
It is tempting to gloat and say "I told you so"
I suggested an open meeting with an indepedant chairman. Basically because I thought Jubilee park was the best site, perhaps as has now been explained a tad small, but none the less better than what is now likely to be offered.- Nothing for the foreseeable future.- And a well argued case, that you are capable of presenting would have swayed public opinion in favour.
Instead we were treated to what was supposed to be the BTT victory parade at the Township Forum . I voted in favour of jubilee park, but after Rodney Hill's patronising hour, I was sorely tempted not to.
You see it is not only the young who are patronised.
He was quite content to walk away and let the people of Ashton know about his decision in Tuesday's paper with a statement issued on Monday. Unfortunately some alkward so and so decided to ask him if he was taking any notice of the Township forum vote!!
None the less the prepared statement came out in Tuesday's paper and true to form they made a B**** of it and didn't alter the days.
What does the future hold for the skatepark?Lenghty objections? King George playing fields, leaving Jubilee Park for illegal drinking? The Three Sisters, too far out except weekends, leaving Jubilee Park and King George Playing fields for illegal drinking etc.
Are you getting the idea? you now have to sell the idea to the residents who are objecting, perhaps by leafleting. Quite a lot harder than a web site or an open meeting. Or just lie back and forget it, Matthew and company, I don't think that is your style.
THE BALL IS IN YOUR COURT. oops sorry!
Regards
Alan |
