Lough Neagh Triathon info Sat 16th August

Lough Neagh Triathlon (www.loughneaghtri.com)
Ballyronan Marina, Ballyronan, N. Ireland.
The Lough Neagh Triathlon will take place on Saturday 16th August 2008.

The event will be on closed roads, in a non-drafting race format, catering for individuals and relay teams of all abilities.
Event History
The Lough Neagh Triathlon was initiated in 2001 and has quickly been established as one of the most professional and spectator friendly triathlons in Ireland. It is a fun, mass participation event catering for all abilities. The Lough Neagh Triathlon has been a huge success on all fronts in previous years. It has had the distinction of hosting the Home Nations Championships, won by England and also the Irish Triathlon Championships. It has also seen a large increase in the number of athletes who have entered and completed the event.
At the Lough Neagh Triathlon we also try to attain one goal. To promote a professional race to the highest international standards, but with legendary Irish hospitality and atmosphere. We feel our race acts as a benchmark for other races to meet the standard of excellence that Lough Neagh has attained.
Event Details
The event will consist of a 1500m swim in Lough Neagh (close to the shoreline at all times), a 40k cycle (25 miles) of a 4 lap course and a final challenge of a 10k run comprising another 4 lap course. Both the cycle and run sections will take competitors through the marina area thus allowing spectator participation.

Competitors can also complete the challenge as part of a relay team made up of 3 members, 1 swimmer, 1 cyclist and 1 runner. So why not get together with a couple of friends and enjoy the experience of triathlon by completing one discipline each.

We are delighted to announce that Richard Allen will be present at this years Lough Neagh Triathlon on the 16th August. Unfortunately he is not going to be racing on the day but he is going to be involved in the days events, assuming a number of roles. Richard is one of the most successful ever British triathletes. He is the only British triathlete to have won 9 National Elite British Championships covering every triathlon distance and duathlon. In the UK victories include all the major British classics of London, Ironman UK 70.3 and Windsor. Please see the attached link for more information on Richard.... www.richardallenfitness.com.

Race Entry
Online entry for both the individual and relay race is available on Entry Central at the following address http://www.entrycentral.com/index.php?festivalID=81
