A quick message to also say thanks to all who supported the final Ras in Skerries. Congratulations and well done to all the Swords and South Dublin CC personnel on the RAS. Also thanks to Pat and Paul Deans for making the phone calls and getting people mobilised. |

Fair play to Pat & Deano - its takes huge amount of effort and personal time to pull something like this together. And they even provided lunch for the marshals (rolls freshly baked by Deano's fair hand no doubt).

I followed the Ras online (got nothing done) all week. I found myself getting more and more involved as time went on and cursed it when it went out of coverage (not very often). I now know to watch stephen on the climbs, Kevin in the sprints (and time trials)and Ciaran in well, just about everything. Some very classy riders finished behind the swords lads on GC and I had goosebumps standing on holmpatrick corner as the bunch came into town with Halpin on the front (never anyone else going to do that was there!?). The roar of the crowd from strand really caught me off guard. Fantastic performances from the lads, great organisation from Paul and Pat and hopefully our club sponsors got as much a buzz as I did following all week. |
