Elephant Managers Association Message Board

Welcome EMA Members

The message board of the Elephant Manager’s Association is intended to serve as a forum for the exchange and dissemination of information related to the professional care and husbandry of elephants managed under human care. All postings should deal specifically with these areas of concern. Any postings that the author feels potentially may not fall within these areas of concern should be labeled as “off-topic” in the subject line. These postings will be reviewed by the EMA board, acting as elected representatives of the membership, or its designee, and may or may not be allowed. Any postings that are not labeled by the author as off-topic but, upon review by the board or its designee, are determined to be off-topic will be deleted. All posting considered to be inflammatory will be deleted. All postings considered to be in violation of the EMA Code of Ethics will be deleted. All postings considered to be obscene or similarly inappropriate will be deleted. Any individual or entity that repeatedly posts messages that require removal may be excluded from further participation in the message board. The actions of the board or its designee in this regard should be considered to be final.

submitting abstracts for the 2008 EMA conference

Please note that the deadline for accepting abstracts for the EMA conference is 15 July, not 1 July as has posted in a couple of places. We’ve received several great abstracts already, and are looking for more! Consider sharing your experience, your projects, your great ideas, even your not-so-great ideas, with your colleagues at the 2008 EMA conference in Orlando.

In response to popular demand, we are extending the deadline for submitting abstracts for the program at the 2008 EMA Conference to August 1.
