Firstly, yes, the refurb has most certainly been 'out and about', and you can read about this here - http://www.trainweb.org/districtdave/html/refurbished_d_stock_testing.html
Secondly, I was chatting with the Metronet/Bombardier Project Engineer about (in particular) train 3 and he didn't seem to be quite that optimistic for its return. This train is being done at Derby, so is the first to be dealt with there, and of course that's the first train to be handled there, so it's a bit like a new project all over again for them. My understanding is that it's stripped and painted, but that there is still much to do, so I think March may be being rather optimistic!
Train 1 may well be a different matter, as it's been returned to Wakefield, so I guess that may be back in that kind of timescale, as it's predominantly 'finishing touches' that have got to be done to bring it up to full specification.
A soon as I get further news, it will be shared, and if you get anything further I'd be interested to hear it! |
