County Court House Noncompliant
Seems the U.S. Justice Department has been as busy as Pat Simmons and Keep Big Spring Beautiful in looking over Big Spring and Howard County. Only they were not looking for eye sores but rather governement entities who are noncompliant with Federal Law. The latest hit came today when they sited the County Courthouse for not meeting the minimum standards for handicapped access. Imagine that. Now what are they going to do? The County has recently moved the Voting Administrators office to the third floor where early voting is to take place and the only elevator will not accomodate a wheelchair/scooter bound individual. Are they attempting to challange Federal Voting Rights Law as well? It just does not seem to end, this mess our local government continues to us get us into. When will this town wake up? |
