It was a most miserable existence
His Word and His Ways provided no assistance
In shadows I sulked and in corners I cried
Hoping and Praying It would come before I died

"It" being the happiness that we all seek
Because in its absence were terribly weak
Our days are all dark and were deeply depressed
Our happiness and joy are never expressed.

Sadly I found myself in a hole deep
Out of it I came by the aid of a creep
For he and others showed me a light
And I hoped and I prayed it would make me right

The light shines in the darkest of places
Changing even the most stubborn of faces
Reviving even the deadest of hearts
Illuminating life in all of its parts

So softly, so sweetly, the light was calling me
Though full of doubt I was, I moved to it effortlessly
Happiness, joy, and excitement all grew
I was to ecstatic to know what to do

An undecisiveness that seems to govern us full
When confronted by something so bright and so beautiful
We don't care what happens, we know it's going to be good
All agree that it must be felt to be understood

Drowned by the light I lost my sight
My sense of direction, my sense of wrong and right
The light gently guided me to a pleasantly perfumed knoll
On it stood the source of the light--and she moved my soul.

For she was a sight I beheld before
But now I shall cherish her evermore
She stood there giving me a sweet smile
Making all my pain and my strife worthwhile.

It's not complete yet, but I thought I should just post what I have done.
