poem from my daily journal

19720329 Wednesday

Pine - Cones and Needles and Trees

There is an attacking army of slender tall monsters
Carpet bombing the earth with cones
The bombs must be collected and disposed of
Before they explode and create more monsters
The monsters are conducting aerial sniping
Hurling their needles at intruders
Stabbing the leaves of surrounding bushes and plants
Smothering them with a deadly brown blanket of needles
Even the remaining stumps continue the relentless assault
Hosting deadly diseases that kill though the monster is gone
War is Hell.
