Missing persons can be found

The resent case of the missing boy who disappeared 4 years ago and was found might be a hopeful sign for others.

Could there still be a chance someone has Jodi alive. Maybe that is why no one has confessed to killing her because she is not dead.

What does everyone think? Any chance she could still be alive?

Re: Missing persons can be found

I came back to this site against my better judgment.

Jodi is almost certainly dead, her death likely occurred within hours of her abduction.

What I ask is why hasn’t this crime been solved? A tremendous amount of publicity and a “small town” enviroment. There is someone who knows something but he or she isn’t talking and probably will take the information to his or her grave. Why? If the average “creep” had committed this crime, why protect them?

Maybe it is the sheer amount of “tips” that have distracted investigators. They, being inexperienced, released too much information, too soon. That led to a flood of “tips” that ultimately sidetracked the investigation.

It’s tough to start all over from scratch, but that is the only thing that can be done now.

I always start with motive. If the motive was a sexual assault, that leads to a “pool” of sex offenders. Just how many sex offenders lived in that area? How many unsolved sex crimes? I’m confident that police have investigated known sex offenders ad nauseam.

If the motive was NOT sexual, then who had the most to gain from Jodi’s death? I can’t ignore this motive even though it doesn’t fit the crime, per say.

I, like most investigators, believe this crime was sexually motivated. But what if it wasn’t? That would lead to a new “pool” of suspects. None of which were thoroughly investigated.

Everyone Knows who I am talking about...

Re: Missing persons can be found

As I wrote before, it could have been something that got out of hand.

Maybe it was about "scaring" Jodi but it went way too far.

The only reason I presnt this scenario is that Jodi was late for work that morning (again!) and someone might have felt his or her life was being negatively affected by Jodi.

Re: Missing persons can be found

Some good input here regarding motive. I remember about the time Jodi disappeared (nothing to do with the abduction) a former Police Chief in Minnesota lit fire to an old apartment building where his former girlfriend lived. It was his plan to run into the burning building and rescue his ex and thereby she would be eternally grateful to him for saving her life.

I am going to research the case but I think it happened in late winter of 95. If so, it might have given someone ideas.

Bill, we never got that cup of coffee, did we?

It happened in the city of Lansboro and the guy's name was John Tuchek (sp).
