Behind the Scenes

I would like to just mention that there are a lot of leads being checked out behind the scenes. A few of us from the site met last spring and summer and explored theories and scenarios. We traveled to Mason City and other places on our own time and expense to try to find Jodi and the truth behind what happened to her. We did not publicize what we were doing and only occasionally reported on it after the fact on the web page.

We only contacted law enforcement when we explored private property and needed their help and permission. We found them to be very open and willing to listen and aid us when we asked. We did not seek the media nor do we want media attention.

If and when our effort pays off and we find Jodi our reward will be the answer to our prayers and a resolution for her family and friends.

There are other places we want to search and other possibilities we want to explore. We hope that constructive information may come out over the next few months to guide us in our search.

Next spring and summer we hope to search more areas of interest and maybe we can pick up a few more friends from this site to join us.

We will never with hold evidence that we come across. Matter of fact we turned over enough questionable bones to the sheriff's department to put together an army of skeletons…. Despite the fact that we may have thought they were human they weren’t…One day they may be….

This site is valuable and after 11 years of trying to find Jodi I appreciate the friends I have met with the same goal of finding Jodi…. Starting with Keith’s web page and emailing Jim Feldhaus for years (very devoted to the cause) and continuing now with great people I have met through this site.

God Bless each and every one who prays for Jodi and her family… Don’t ever lose sight of what we are trying to accomplish here at findjodi.com

Re: Behind the Scenes

After the 1st of the year we will have to discuss theories, search areas and times. For now I am comprising a list of individuals willing to help.

I am thinking April might be a good time. However, last April when a few of us met it rained the whole day. We still went out and checked different areas, but we got really really wet.

It might be good if Law Enforcement has some areas they would be willing to let us check out they might get envolved. All private property has to be cleared with the owners and Law Enforcement.

Thanks to thoes who have offered to be a part of this. We will be in contact.

Re: Behind the Scenes

I just spent 4 days in Mason City searching several places. Today I have been thinking about a place that I dreamed about years ago. In my dream Jodi went underwater and came up in a family resteraunt bar named Murphy's. One of the places I found in Mason City is along the Winnebago in Murphy's Park.

Today I went down to the river at Murphy's Park off of Birch Drive across the river from the Base Ball Diamonds.(About in the Middle between Kentucky and Illinois on Birch Drive) I walked up a path and down at the shore where the water had been, east until I got to the curve where the water takes a 90 degree turn.... in fact 2 turns. At that point in the river a lot of stuff in the river collects on the shore from large trees to picnic tables to lost baby bottles.

If you click on feedback link in the options on the main page you will see a picture I took last year at this place. I don't know if the river gets really high every year, but there is a lot of stuff there piling up.

I tried to take a lot more pictures and look around, but I didn't have enough time today too really look under and around very much. It is on park property.

It's not really that hard to get to if you follow the path the deers made through there. Just remember to stay on the park property and not trespass where the new houses are.

If anyone wants to help searh that area(with a friend) it would be helpful. Just remember too, that we are talking about something that might have washed up 12 years ago. There is an EDDY there or back wash and if something or someone was sucked under there the remains of it may be farther up into the shore than something that just washed up this spring.

After talking with someone this week end I was told how there have been people who have drowned in the Winnebago River and been dragged under into the current and later surfaced in an EDDY or back wash miles farther down stream. 12 years ago the River was very high and now today it is extremely shallow in areas because of lack of rain.

That wasn't the only place on the Winnebago River that I searched this last week end. I also went to Lime Creek Preserves and walked the trail along the river... then drove down the road on the other side of the river there where I could.

There is so much area to cover and so many eyes needed to search that area. I don't know for certain if Jodi was in the River or if she was where she may have been. I did hear that she may have been taken somewhere west of the city... but nothing is really certain at this point.

I believe we need to be open minded to all possibilities until we learn different. If we get tunnel vision and only search places where we theorize her to be we may (AND WILL) never find her.

Keep the Faith and help search if you are in that neighborhood. Now is a good time when the water level is down, but be care ful and use deep woods off to protect yourself from insects..... My husband managed to pick up a wood tick on the trail....

Yes, and drop me an email or post any findings you may come across. Also, contact the MC Police if you do find something...

Re: Behind the Scenes

Wasn't there a Murphy's at the Mall (Southbridge)at the time of Jodi's disappearance?

Re: Behind the Scenes

At that time I had never been to Mason City. I asked someone if there was a Murphy's there, but they didn't think so.

A couple years later when I went to Mason City on my own I found Murphy's Park and Murphy's Gazebo across the river from her apartment.

By that time the Murphy's I found in the phone book then had already been sold and a name change.

Does anyone know about the Murphy's Rest. that was open in 1995 and what connection it would have had with Jodi?

Re: Behind the Scenes

HERE IS ANOTHER AREA THAT NEEDS TO BE SEARCHED!!!

Last spring I wanted to search this area, but the road was closed. When I went back a couple weeks ago the road was open and I was able to drive down it.

The area in questioned matched a psychic vision of looking up at a RR track near a sandy area. Infact several visions from psychics back in 1997 referred to areas that might match this area. It is a possible dump site East of Mason City.

If you are in the area and have the time check this out and besure to spay Deep Woods Off all over you before entering the area.

The area is off of the old 18 hwy just west of Nora Springs right before you get to the Giant Green House or factory made of glass is a road into the Shell Rock Preserve. This park road follows the Shell Rock River up to a road that connects to Yarrow Avenue.

I think the area most likely used as a dump site is where the road gets close to the RR tracks on the west side with the river on the right. I walked through the tall weeds to the track, but didn't have enough time to do a through search. Wish I knew someone with a sniffer dog that could check the area.

Then if you follow the road north and take the jog to the left then right you can take a road that runs along the Shell Rock River all the way up to 320th Street. I am not sure if the road is called Yarrow Avenue from there north.

I anyone gets a chance to check this area out, please post what you find or email me.

Re: Behind the Scenes

I had a thought the other day that there may be someone out there who would like to talk to someone without worring about someone tracing something back to their computer. I personally don't know how that works, but what the hey.

Anyway if there is someone who would like to discuss something with me on the Q-T, I would like to hear from you. If you have any information about Jodi Huisentruit you would like to pass on to me you can write to me.... (I am not referring to Mc-said it a million times on the internet -yre)...

You can write me at my Post Office Box.

Even if you were a part of what happened to Jodi and just want to get it off your chest, you can write me. I will not be able to track anything back to anyone. If you want to use your return address I will not reviel who you are.

I sometimes use this P.O. Box to do readings for people and I have also used this P.O Box for people in prison who I felt were not guilty of the crimes they were accused of. So,it is all set up...

It's up to you... You can address it to Muskgrove, P.O.Box 42, Kewanee, Illinois 61443

Re: Behind the Scenes

Here it is the end of September 2007 with October around the corner. Did anyone find the time to check the areas I mentioned in above posts? If you did, would you please post and let us know.

I have had one special area I believe there is a strong possibility Jodi could be found, but as of yet haven't been able to do a thorough search. I have been reluctant to post this place one the board. It could be opening up a whole different can of worms.

Re: Behind the Scenes

April 7, 2008

Where has the time gone? Does anyone know what kind of things the Police are doing right now to solve this case? It would be nice to get an update.

In the mean time... I have been talking to some people with new areas to search this spring and summer. I hope the weather will cooperate more than in the past.

If anyone knows of an area to check, let me know. And if some of you that have talked about joining the search are still interested, let me know.

I haven't given up on finding Jodi... Just pray God will let someone find her soon and let us know who the man or men responsible for this are.

Re: Behind the Scenes

I was surprised to see your post on Murphy's Park, as I live quite near it. I'm curious...what were you looking for along the river there? For her body, or for items or clues related to her disappearance? It seems to me that it's too close to her apartment building to serve as a possible location for her body. In my mind, it would have made more sense for whoever took her to have beat a path out of town, which can be done pretty quickly from the Keys apartments. I have sometimes wondered, though, if Birch Drive could have been the route taken. It's only been paved in the the very recent past to accomodate the new houses/condos. Back when Jodi disappeared, I think it was probably still a dirt road, and I don't think there would have been many houses or buildings on it...there is only one house on this stretch of Birch--you may have seen it, as it's right on the river where you were searching--that was obviously here then. It would have probably provided a nice, dark path of escape, then north on Illinois, east on 12th street, and out into the cornfields. Another route from the Keys could have been north on Kentucky to 12th, but there are and were many more houses/streetlights on that stretch of road. Just a thought. Good luck with your searches!
